Kawaii is the Japanese word for “cute,” and it encompasses many different styles of media. Though usually thought of as bright colored and child-like, Kawaii can encompass just about anything that is considered cool. Many different subcultures have adopted the word, from the usual suspects like Lolita and Fairy fashion to Goth, Menhera, and Neo-Gal.
